My grandson experienced bullying in the community. Bullying Awareness and Prevention Organization of Indiana County really listened. Misty took the feedback and created this group to help others being bullied. They started attending school board meetings and speaking on behalf of children being bullied. They continue to advocate for people of color in our community.

My mother founded the Indiana County PA Inclusion Initiative in order to push the school district to have a comprehensive bullying prevention and awareness program. I endured extensive bullying as a child and young adult. I am a survivor of bullying within a school district in Indiana County, PA. My mother continues to fight and advocate for me. Now I have joined the fight. I am helping to protect others as a board member and LGBTQ+ specialist.

I contacted the Indiana County PA Inclusion Initiative about my special needs child being bullied. They listened to my case and our experience. Though the school district was already involved in finding a resolution, it was helpful to have an advocate on my side and a friend to listen to our experience.
